jump start!

Last weekend I posted an outfit on Instagram that received a lotta love. A jumpsuit/boiler suit/all-in-one. It's been a go-to item ever since I got it in February.....for the princely sum of £19.99! It is perfect with flats for everyday but stick it with a pair of heel for an evening and it just elevates into a whole 'nother look. It's more than paid for itself as it's still the one thing I grab when I'm in doubt as to what to wear. Obviously my Mango one has long disappeared from their website (though I spotted a couple of sizes on the outlet a few weeks back, sadly none left now) but I've been busily researching what there is available on the High Street. So here goes.....

Boiler suit

So for the purpose of this post I am going with the boiler suit-style. The one above is very dark navy (called dark space) and I would be rolling up those sleeves and wearing with a flat ballet pump.....the trainers make a little to sporty looking for my liking!
This one is erring much more on the sporty-side as well it is in fact Nike....but me likey (see what I did there!)!

Jumpsuit

Now this one is described as a jumpsuit and it looks silky up close. I like the crop leg and the v-neck, again I'd be wearing with something like these.
Slipping back into proper boil suit territory. I feel I should foray into the denim as this one would be a great transitional item for my wardrobe!

Boiler suit

The denim I think does require a trainer.....more so than a pump me-thinks! My Michael Kors Conrad trainers would be a match made in heaven as they do have a slightly retro feel to them (phrase borrowed from the lovely Louisa F, thank you!)
Of all my researched jumpsuits I think this one is the closest I've found to my Mango one. There are only a couple left though......just so you know!

Again, those sleeves need to be rolled up! And never in a month of Sundays would I be wearing mules.....they just don't lend themselves well to this kind of look....but that's just my opinion!
I've exhausted the possibilities at Zalando, I'm now turning my attention to Gap. This one comes in khaki and what is described as black moss (looks navy to me!).

Love the khaki....would wear with my beloved red pumps! Not feeling it for the styling with the shoes here again though!

Moving on to ASOS. This one although on the dressier side does also remind me of my beloved Mango one so I had to include it!

Jumpsuit

I'm not keen on the shoes again, as the leg length is cropped I think this one would really lend itself to a ballerina with an ankle strap like these!
Well that concludes my little round-up. I've actually come across a lot of other lovely jumpsuits that I would describe as dressier options.....that would be fab for the up and coming party season! I'll be back with those in a while!

I'll leave you with the outfit that inspired this post.....

Mango jumpsuit, past season
New Look shoes, sold out similar here
Sienna Jones bag

Rounding-off with a little question for you ladies! You may have noticed that I'm  wearing quite a lot of past season clothing at the moment. If it is past season I do like try and find an alternative (generally from a different brand) to link or something similar (from the same brand but this seasons version). What I'd like to pick your brains about is as to whether you find this useful or whether you'd just prefer me to say that it's past season without trying to find an alternative. I know how frustrating it can be when you see something that's no longer available. This also goes for Instagram as well as the blog....should I make it clear in my captions when items are no longer available......maybe I should just not tag items if the are past season? I would love to hear your thoughts!

My next post it all about jeans.....I've been won over by the fit of designer jeans after doing a lot of research which I will share with you over weekend!

Back soon!

  5. I'd much rather read blogs like yours or mine featuring past season items with a handful of new items or trend pieces thrown in than one featuring new clothes every single post. That kind of over-consumption really puts me off!! Featuring older items still gives ideas of how to mix and match things and if it's too time consuming for you to find alternatives then do it as and when you have the time :)
