shopping independently!

Time for something completely different today. As much as I love the Great British High Street, I must profess my love (again!) for a fabulous independent boutique that I am lucky enough to visit now and again. hi*hi is such a treasure trove of gorgeousness, I adore the fact that it is the perfect place to pick something just a bit special. Oh how I envy the ladies that live in close proximity to Oxted who have access to this lovely boutique regularly......though my flexible friend is thankful of the distance! ;0) When I ventured there last weekend I did have a bit of a pre-Christmas splurge, I will spill those details later on......however, first a tour of the shop!

Just Jeff jumper

hi*hi has a brilliant selection of Scandi brands all the result of much research at Copenhagen Fashion Week. They stock Munthe, Samsoe & Samsoe, Culture, Gestuz, Twist & Tango, Denim Hunter Jeans and Ilse Jacobsen rainwear. All of the stock is merchandised perfectly making it a dream to shop in. One of the best things about shopping here is the fabulous personal service you get from the lovely team....when I visited Lisa, the owner was on hand to help with her expert styling knowledge, Rosie popped in to say hi and Becky was an absolute star seeking out all the right sizes for me! Bless Becky as when I arrived she thanked me as she had seen hi*hi* on my blog a while back and went to investigate....she loved it so much she ended up working there!

Anyway the whole point of the trip was to treat myself.......cue a huge trying on session!

Gestuz sweater that can be worn 2 ways £119

The texture of this Rabens Saloner sweater is beautiful.

Rabens Saloner sweater £159

The print on this Samsoe print is simply stunning.

I love this Twist and Tango sweater.....but there was already a stripe jumper that had stolen my heart so I tore myself away from this one.

Twist and tango stripe sweater £129

There were so many gorgeous sweaters it was hard to choose! Jumpers were at the top of my shopping list though which is why I tried on so many.

Denim Hunter sweater with leather trim £99

Just Jeff grey star jumper £130

Twist and Tango dress £99

So what did I actually purchase? I ended up with three jumpers and a pair of boots. I fell for this Culture sweater the minute I laid eyes on it!

This has been stashed as a Christmas pressie....thanks mum! ;-)

Twist and Tango sweater £129

This I bought to wear with a lace cami, boyfriends and satin pumps now but I think it will come into it's own next summer with white skinny jeans and Converse.....thank you for the styling tips Lisa!

St Tropez top £49

Last but by no means least are the Pavement boots that I absolutely adore!

Pavement boots £105

As you can see I wasted no time in wearing the boots with the Culture sweater.

There were a great selection of things to buy for Christmas gifts......some beautiful Becksondergaard bags, scarfs and socks and some gorgeous jewellery brands too!

You are able to shop a small selection online here but if there is anything you see here that you fancy they are only too happy to do mail order over the phone.....give them a call on 01883 722505. Hi*Hi* also offer a wardrobe detox service, personal styling sessions and they will even host a private shopping evening for you, more details here.

So, are you sold on shopping independently? I would love to hear :o)

inspired discount shopping!

One of my Black Friday purchases was an inspired choice. I bought this ruffled collar shirt with a whopping 40% off taking it down to £17.49.

My intention was to replicate this look.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pink sweater to wear over it but there's a tale for another day.....many have been tried. However I still think it's going to be a pretty useful shirt especially since I spotted this sweatshirt whilst researching my last post.....which of course has been duly ordered with the Mango 20% Black Friday discount.

Back to today's what I'm wearing which has been inspired by this outfit.

mango black friday 20% off picks

I've somehow managed to overlook Mango so far this season but it is amazing how quickly a 20% off everything code can rectify that! Use code BLACK at checkout.

My achilles heel is always a coat so what better place to start.

There is another gorgeous parka here that I would purchase in a heartbeat if I didn't have my trusty Toppers one.

I had a little yearning for a pink coat a while back......how fabulous is this one!

Then there is this stunning leopard print jacket.

I struggle with day dresses in the winter but I love the way this is styled with a roll neck underneath, and I think this dress would look ace with my new taupe ankle boots.....and black opaques I hasten to add!

I'd wear a black roll neck under it, not grey.....

I *need* a pale pink sweater in my life and I love this polka dot one.

Although it's been all about the stars this season.....I still love a good stripe.

Mango have some superb sweatshirts......well worth taking advantage of the discount in this department! First up a bit of sport luxe. I LOVE this and it would look fantastic with this Black Friday purchase I've made (here  with 40% off!) How perfect for under this top!

You might think you were reading the wrong blog if there weren't at least one item bearing a star! ;-) This sweatshirt is lush!

Right time to conclude my Mango findings.....I'm feeling Black Friday-ed out! I've only trawled my favourite places that I actually shop in. A Mango order will have to be placed online as there isn't one local enough to me. I did pay Topshop in Bath a visit this morning and I can report they had plenty of sizes and lots of stock! Both the Mango and Topshop deals are on over the weekend so there is plenty of time to peruse. In case you missed it my Topshop Black Friday edit it's here. Go forth and shop those bargains!

Now for yesterday's and today's outfits.
