is it safe to talk summer dresses yet?

A couple of weeks ago I came across this fab summer dress inspiration from that regular style heroine of mine, Kate Bosworth. At the time we were still in single figure temperatures weather-wise....however it would appear there is warmer weather on the horizon. Guaranteed to send us all dashing off to the shops to stock up on suitable warm weather clobber....I have been predicting for a while that we would bypass Spring and dive headlong into Summer and it looks as though that's what could be happening! Now I adore this dress....it's totally out of my budget so I'll have to admire it on Kate, but it got the research underway!

Where's the best place to start looking for a High Street homage.....well that would be my go-to store for a great dress, Mango. Last year I picked up a great little peasant-style dress there which was my *take me anywhere* dress....I think it will again this year to be honest! The year before it was a cream Grecian-style dress that I know was very popular amongst the blogging community! And! As luck would have it all Mango's dresses are reduced at the moment....so without further ado here are my picks! Starting with the closest I've found anywhere on the High Street to the Ulla Johnson dress...believe me when I say I have trawled!

I think it's just begging to be worn with the gorgeous H&M espadrilles that I posted on my Instagram feed here. Not available online unfortunately. They would also look equally as fab with this little sundress.

This one I can imagine with these Dune sandals and this Gap denim jacket slung over it.

This is such a gorgeous shade of blue and I know my Zara patterned quilted jacket from a couple of years back would be perfect over it and my silver Superga.

How stunning is this beaded dress......I would style this my Topshop Fig's from last year and a biker jacket like this.

I will definitely be clicking the button on these next 3 dresses.....they all have the boho vibe that I love! Past experience tells me they (well, fingers crossed) won't come up quite as short as they look on the model!

Love this....think it would be superb with Converse or strappy sandals!

There had to be a pretty little white dress in here somewhere! Love the Mango styling with the trainers here.

Naturally I'd love all of the above...each and every one would add something a bit different to my current array of summer dresses. Of course there are many more gorgeous dresses to choose from on the Mango website so I urge you to have a look as they all appear to be discounted (following on from the 30% off jackets last week perhaps?) though there is no rhyme or reason to the amount of discount as some are reduced more than others....up to 50% off  and with free delivery over £30.....well what are you waiting for?! I'd love to hear if anything tickles your fancy and you end up clicking the button!

Here I am today sporting my first legs-out dress of this year!

So, do you think it's safe to break out the summer dresses out yet? The Mango picks are just the tip of the iceberg....I'm off to France for a mini-break next week so cue a bit more research for me! ;0) I'd better get clicking!

Be back soon!

  1. Some fab dresses. I didn't realise that Mango are doing a staggered discount. Kicking myself that I missed the jackets. Must go and have a browse x

    1. I think in years previous they have just had a weekend where everything was 30% off haven't they?! I didn't get an email to say the dresses were reduced...I just sort of stumbled across it! Hey-ho though.....who am I to argue as there are some great discounts and the timing is perfect with the weather turning! xx

  3. Our weather was glorious for the past week but then yesterday it turned naff once again and today, well today, we're promised thunderstorms and lightening! And I live in Portugal! But it hasn't stopped me from getting all my summer clothes out lol. It'll be hot again soon enough. I do love Kate's dress and all the other ones you've posted but sadly, whenever I try stuff on in Mango, it just looks wrong on me. They just don't seem to fit right, which is weird because I haven't got a freaky body or anything. I am pretty normal lol!! I'll have to find some dresses elsewhere - like Massimo Dutti and H&M (my favourites!). I'm looking forward to seeing which dresses you splash out on this season, Michelle!

I keep meaning to look at Massimo Dutti as you've mentioned them before Suzy....heading straight over there for a look now! Maybe they will have some more tempting dress options! ;0) xx

Kate Bosworth looks gorgeous in that dress, mind you she always looks amazing! Thanks so much for the heads up on the Mango discount. I ordered this dress, it arrived yesterday and is really lovely (but very long and I am 5'7") Looks much more expensive than it was (especially with the discount!)

Think I may get it shortened to long-ish midi length. Love your style and blog btw! xx
