a little lace number!

If you follow me on Instagram you will already know that I spent a couple of days away on a city break to Edinburgh. We were lucky enough to have some glorious weather and warm temperatures when we arrived. The shopping is brilliant in Edinburgh and with the sun shining......well it really got me in the mood for a spring/summer purchase or two! I can't take the credit for finding this little gem as it was my mum that picked it up! Mwah mum! You have no idea how long I've been looking for the perfect Victoriana-style blouse (yup....a few have been purchased which have duly been returned!)

Limited sizes left but the product code  is 0397893001 should you want to track it down in a store near you via H&M excellent customer service department. But! I've found a couple of lovely alternatives here and here.

Here's how I intend to style this little beauty with what's already in my wardrobe (where some of my items are past season and no longer available I've used similar items). Here goes...

    1. Thank you Sue! I think with a pretty top the possibilities are endless.....and that's exactly why tend tend to end up with a few! ;0) I'm a bit scared to go anywhere near H&M at the moment as they are definitely seeing more than their fair share of my coin this season! xx

  2. Hi Michelle, I am going to Edinburgh for a family wedding this week end! Its forecast for snow ! I really like your style and need some advice on mine... I am a 40 + Mum of stay at home mum of two I've just emerged from a really horrible depression over the winter. I'm feeling so much better but am discovering that I have Nothing to Wear !! I've totally lost my style mojo. I don't know where to start. Whats the first thing I should buy to start building up my wardrobe again ? thanks Emma x

    1. Oh my goodness Emma! I really feel for you! An April wedding and you would expect the weather to be fairly reasonable wouldn't you! Are you sorted for a wedding outfit yet?
Right, it depends on what basics you already have but I think I'd start with classic pieces that I wear year in and year out jacket-wise that would be a biker jacket, a green utility style jacket and a tux blazer, also useful is a denim jacket during summer when the early morning school run is still pretty chilly. For tops, Breton's are a winner all year round, a classic white t shirt, grey as well (I prefer v necks), denim shirt, crisp white shirt and grey sweatshirt. I live in skinny jeans but a khaki utility style trouser is a fab alternative and I do wear a boyfriend style more during the Spring/Summer months. Shoes....I tend to go for comfort and wear Converse most of the time, though I am partial to any kind of trainer....I'm really into the New Look ballet pumps I bought more recently. In summer it will be a flat, tan, strappy sandal all the way! If you would like any more ideas please email me myfashionable40s@gmail.com, I'd be more than happy to help and go a bit more in depth for you. I do hope you are well and truly on the road to recovery and have a fab time in Edinburgh....it's a gorgeous city xx
