The *take me anywhere* dress

This little Mango number has been my saviour over the (non-existent) Summer. I bought it whilst I was on holiday back in May and wore it straight away (first pic below) which is always the sign of a good purchase for me! Since then it has become one of the hardest working pieces in my wardrobe and has without doubt been my best purchase of the Summer.

It looks as good with a heeled sandal as it does with a flat, my favourite look was when I wore it with ankle boots a few weeks back. So, when I was faced with a tricky event to dress for last week the Mango dress ended up being a no-brainer again.

As luck would have it Mango are doing some similar styles for A/W15, they are a great nod to the boho trend that it would seem is here to stay. In order to get maximum usage from mine I shall be wearing for the coming season with a belted oversize cardy, boots and opaques like this......

Here's a look at what Mango currently have to offer that is similar to my S/S 15 Mango dress.......

This one says it's navy, though it looks more of a royal blue to me, also comes in maroon.

They do a short sleeve style.

This one definitely has a more of the boho vibe about it, I'd be inclined to wear it without the belt though. I think this one would be fab with some heeled tan knee high boots!

I've left my favourite until last.......

Do you still wear dresses in the Autumn? Any other little tricks to share to get the maximum usage out of any of  your favourite pieces? I'd love to hear how you get every last wear out of your Summer stuff!

Round-up of what I've been wearing these past couple of days. It's been a bit of a shock to the system now I'm back on the school run, I wasn't expecting such chilly mornings!

Huge, huge thanks to my lovely blogging friend Sue who managed to track down this Dorothy Perkins pinafore I blogged about recently! They were sold out online and there were none to be found in stores around me and even a call to their customer service didn't manage to uncover one but Sue managed to get her hands on one! What an angel! Thank you Sue!

Last but by no means by least......have you noticed anything different about me? I've had a little facelift......here on the blog. I've just past my 2 year anniversary and I thought I'd celebrate it with a new look! Another huge thank you to my lovely fellow blogger Karen from Mission;Style! She got me out of a blogging rut and popped me on the right path when I thought my mojo was lost! Karen *introduced* me to the fantastic Jen at www.magicfeatherdesigns.com who put together this fab new site for me! Big thanks to you both!

Right, that's all from me for now......be back soon!

  3. Love the fresh design of your blog Michelle. I have a similar dress to yours which I love but tend to wear it in winter with boots and tights. The blue Mango one is tempting x

    1. Thank you Donna....I'm not good at getting the legs out in A/W but I have really enjoyed wearing skirts over the Summer so this will be the year to get the pins out with the tights and boots! So much tempting stuff in Mango at the moment, I'm still trying to bide my time and not purchase everything on my wish list all in one go! xx

  6. Wow, I love it! So fresh, and a perfect way to celebrate two years of blogging! I am dying to go off and steal your style with that dress, but it's so short on me that it's indecent! I'm going to try tucking it into my jeans and wearing it as a top...

Love all your looks, but the one with the belted cardi is just stunning xx

    1. Thank you Becky! Where has that 2 years gone?! After having had my momentous clear out I decided it was time to get a new look to go with my new ethos!!

Can't you get away with the dress with tights and boots?! I am now going to try mine with jeans.....I was thinking belted over flares with a furry gilet? All things I've already got and another way to do boho for A/W without anymore £££ outlay! Thanking you kindly for the inspiration! xx

  11. Loving the new blog design Michelle. I think your lady did a marvellous job on it! And I can't believe that we had the same idea going around about these dresses but it just goes to prove how versatile they are. My most unexpected way to wear the dress was with jeans but that only came about because I was too lazy to take my jeans off to try on the dress. Funny where inspiration strikes isn't it?

And I love how you belted your cardigan and I belted the dress instead. Just subtle differences but it all works!

We are most certainly psychic! It is great to see how you've styled yours, you've given me some new ideas too....as well as putting a lot of temptation my way as I love the gorgeous ASOS star clutch and those adorable H&M glitter pumps! xx

  12. Congratulations on two years of Blogging! The Blog makeover is fresh and easy to read. That Mango dress is lovely and I may have to steal your style with the belted cardigan for A/W. I was inspired to have had a massive clear out after I read your blog too and weirdly I feel that I have more to wear as the items I have left are more useable together and as you know I wear a uniform to work so I don't need to have a huge amount of clothes but they needed to work harder. Thank you for the inspiration Michelle x

Go go for it with the belted cardigan.....I confess I stole that idea for Alex, The Frugality, though her pic was a belted sweater but I thought it was a great idea anyway!
Have a good clear out does work wonders for you wardrobe......you get to see the wood for the trees as the say! I am still editing all the time.....3 tops and a pair have jeans have taken their leave this week! Glad to be of service with the inspiration! :0) xx
