A celebrity style steal of sorts!

It may or may not have escaped your attention that Warehouse have enlisted the help of TV presenter Emma Willis to *curate* her own collection of 12 pieces from their Autumn/Winter 2015 offerings. This caught my attention on Instagram as they are running a competition which I've entered here. As I've had some success in Warehouse with a couple of recent purchases I thought it wouldn't do any harm to take a peek! I went into a store too hoping to see some of this collection in the flesh, disappointingly though I could only find one or two of the items and I had to really seek them out. You would think with such a launch they would have merchandised the 12 pieces together and advertised it instore so it is easy to identify and capitalise on the celebrity connection! That said, I did visit an Outfit store with a Warehouse concession within. I hope they have gone all out in their main stores! Anyhow, I digress! The trouble is now my resolve on not peaking too soon on the purchase front is being severely tested by their website! Although it isn't Emma herself modelling, the marketing here is really selling this stuff to me! I absolutely adore this blouse and after buying a Victoriana style top a few weeks ago which I have already worn loads, I know this one would slot perfectly into my wardrobe when the temperatures start to dip..... it would go perfectly with the Zara pleather skirt I picked up a few weeks back!

Sadly there was no sign of the blouse in my local Outfit so I didn't get to try it on but I did manage to try this denim a-line which would be a great alternative to the leather look skirt with the blouse. I would seriously contemplate this skirt if I was looking to add another to my growing collection as both my a-line skirts are button through so this one would ring the changes.

As modelled by me.....not quite the same is it!

I'm a bit confused by the Breton on the website as the marketing pics show a Breton that has a boat neck with buttons (which I would prefer) however, when you click through you get a crew neck?! I managed to try this on and although I loved the quality, as it was a lovely thick material and good quality, I'm not all the keen on the crew neck which is just as well as I have maxed out on Breton purchases lately!

I am a total sucker for coats and this monochrome number would be superb with everything I've purchased so far this season. Will you listen to that justification! Can I resist it?!

I've only picked out bits of this collection that I thought would lend themselves to my wardrobe at the moment......of course the danger of checking out their website is that you end up getting sucked into looking at what else Warehouse has to offer and they do have some other gorgeous *wares* that I will be revisiting another day!

My bank holiday weekend outfit round-up!

So is Warehouse's celebrity endorsement selling you the *Curated by Emma Willis* pieces?! Are you a fan of Warehouse anyway? Have you got a favourite? Admittedly as I said, I've only chosen things that would work with what I've got......perhaps there was something you like that I didn't feature that would be an A/W wardrobe workhorse! Hands up.....at the moment lots of my wish list items/purchases seem to be repeats, maybe I have found my style niche at last! Is it possible that the perfect capsule wardrobe could now be doable for me?!

p.s on my last post I mentioned that I had pinned all my favourite beauty buys to a new board on Pinterest and that seems to have proved quite popular! So I have now put together a board (here) of the skincare products I am currently using after becoming addicted to Caroline Hiron's blog a few months back! Since doing lots of research via her blog I have started to invest a little more in my skincare routine as I've always been a bit of a budget make up and skincare girl (I do still love a bargain though!) but I must confess I've definitely noticed a difference since upping my game a bit on the products front. Like my (intended) capsule wardrobe I am keeping the products to a minimum so that I don't end up with a bursting bathroom cabinet! :0)

  1. Ooh thanks for the heads up on the competition Michelle I'll be straight off to enter that!
Some lovely pieces here but such a shame the breton doesn't have the buttons across the shoulder as that would make such lovely detailing.

    1. Get yourself over to Instagram and enter pronto Jane.....I wonder if it's ok to enter more than once as I just saw the coat pop up but I went for the blouse!! Arghh! I *want*.....I *need*!!
Tis a shame about the Breton isn't it. I am going to keep my eyes peeled though as I'm hoping it does pop up instore or on the website at some point! xx

  2. I didn't know about that celeb endorsement *hangs head in shame* but will definitely be having a look now. I've only recently discovered Caroline Hirons .. am also a Sali Hughes fan, so I'll definitely be checking out your Pinterest board x

    1. I'm starting to think that Warehouse are being a little half-hearted about this collection because apart from Instagram, I can't actually recall seeing it advertised anywhere else?! I think they've missed a trick by not having Emma modelling it herself....she started out as a model after all! I am obsessed by Caroline Hirons.....and actually I use the L'Oreal Fibrology hair products after seeing Sali Hughes recommendation xx

    1. There are some lovely pieces in the Emma Willis capsule Sue. There are a couple of lovely dresses, I particularly like the leopard print silk one which has a whiff of Whistles....with a comparative price point too at £90!! It didn't make my little edit here as I just wouldn't have the occasion to wear it and to be honest I would probably rather buy something from Whistles for that kind of money! I saw the denim shirt dress instore but the style wasn't for me, it was a bit too stiff but it was very on trend for the 70's vibe that is carrying on into A/W. Check it out!! xx

  4. Loving your restraint and self control - you're really working hard at this decluttering, aren't you? I'm not a big warehouse fan actually. I just never seem to find things I like there. Maybe it's too trendy for me 😄 Lynne xx

    1. I can't justify buying too much this season Lynne.....I really don't need anything and I can't keep repeat buying in my comfort zone!! I used to love Warehouse when I was at school and used to spend all my Saturday job earnings in there....however over the years it has fallen by the wayside in my affections. I find a lot of the clothing a bit too dressy for my lifestyle now but there is the odd piece that is worth checking out! I have loved my culottes and cold shoulder top so I am going to keep a closer eye on them in case just in case I find another gem or two! xx

  5. Strangely I've just done a blog post on a lot of Warehouse leather bags! They have fallen off my radar of late but their leather seems so reasonably priced. A shame the Emma line doesn't seem to have been given much of a push in store. I'm trying to be good so no wish list created at the moment. Off to check out your beauty board! x

    1. I'm off to check out the Warehouse bags then Natalie....mind you I need another bag like a hole in the head! ;0) Their shoes always look good and I'm a fan of the jewellery too!
They definitely haven't made the best of this range considering they have a celebrity onboard....you'd have thought they'd have gone all out wouldn't you?! I like Emma's style too! xx

  6. Think I must check out this collection Michelle, so many tempting things out there, I have a feeling I've got the same khaki jacket (purchased today), it's fab isn't it.

    1. The Warehouse collection is definitely worth a look Sue, I've stuck with my kind of tried and tested pieces but there is a fur jacket that's fun and some lovely tailored bits but they just wouldn't fit in with my lifestyle.....I think they've incorporated something for everyone though!
I am sure that Sue (So So) and I picked up the TS jacket and looked at it back in June....not sure what took me so long to get around to getting it but I know it will be a wardrobe workhorse for me! xx

You are being so restrained! I bought that Topshop jacket in May when I returned the Hush one which I just didn't love. I've had so much wear out of the Topshop one, everyone admires it. It's been such a rubbish summer it got a lot more wear than expected!

    1. I am really trying to make the best of what I've got and trying to enhance it with whatever I am purchasing now. The TS jacket does fit in perfectly with my lifestyle which is very casual and I am happy to have finally realised that because knowing that certainly helps towards my dream of the perfect capsule wardrobe! :0)

  8. I agree with you Michelle, whenever I go into our so dreary branch, I look around totally uninspired. Then I go online, and see so much I want to buy. And you are so right, why didn't they make a huge splash with the Emma Willis collection??....I have a love/hate relationship with this brand, their website can be rubbish in working at times, and from my experience their mail order service is beyond bad!! But all things forgiven they do have some amazing pieces on there! That blouse is such a goodie, and just for the record my local doesn't stock it either!!
Helen xx P.S. Everything you are wearing is so up my street!! xx

    1. You got me thinking Helen and the last time I actually went into a store was back in June when I was visiting York. The merchandising was a bit mad as they had lots of print back then.....of course I picked up the most boring thing in the shop, a plain black jumpsuit (it was such an awful fit!) and scuttled out of there quickly without purchasing. However I've had some luck with the online purchases there and I admire the fact that they do actually have the facility to track items instore that are sold out online and post to you, which is something that Dotty P's weren't prepared to do for me the other day! It's such a shame as they do have some real gems, they just shouldn't make them so hard to find!!
Thank you for the lovely compliment, although I am lamenting the loss of the Summer I am secretly pleased to be able to be getting some of the transitional bits out already! xx

  9. I am so in love with all things Warehouse right now! The website does seem to have a bit of a glitch though. I've clicked on one thing and got a picture of another several times! I love how you've styled your skirt with the Victoriana blouse, too. I might have to, er, 'borrow' that look from you!

I'm off to have a look at your skincare board. I started one of my own a while ago, but I had to stop because I just kept buying everything on it! That Caroline Hirons is a dangerous woman isn't she?! xx

    1. They have some great stuff Becky, I think I need a trip to a stand alone just to see what else they have to offer, there seem to be some lovely things on their website. Thanks for the tip off re the glitch, I'll check that out!
Lol....think I borrowed the idea of the Victoriana top from you as I loved the way you styled your Warehouse pleather skirt with the black lace Zara top!
I am trying to keep the skincare habit under control....I know Caroline advocates lots of products but I want to keep it capsule......that's a work in progress though just like my wardrobe! xx
