What I'm eyeballing this week!

I'm still trying to hold tight and wait a few more weeks before making any A/W purchases but a couple of pieces have caught my eye.......first up is this gorgeous Topshop military jacket/shacket!

I bought something similar from Toppers a few years back and it's still going strong (last seen recently here thanks to the dire weather) but I think this one is a bit more up-to-date and it's more fitted than my current jacket, see below. You can still find similar on eBay here, here and here (not mine I hasten to add, not sure I can part with it!)

I didn't dabble with dungarees but I think I could be quite partial to a pinafore (I bought a Topshop one a while back see here)! I am completely stealing the The Frugality's style after spotting this Dorothy Perkins one on Alex's blog the other day. I can't get it out of my mind! It's sold out online already but the next shopping opportunity I get (DD is back to school on Wednesday) I am going to scour the stores in hope I can track this down.

I do love my trainers and after acquiring my new Converse I started to look around to see what other styles would work with my A/W uniform and these Adidas Gazelle's look like they will fit the bill, especially with the monochrome pieces I've purchased so far!

Hands up this next item is already safely stashed in the wardrobe and really doesn't need to any justification as it's a trusty Breton and a girl can never have too many of those! Believe or not I didn't have a decent one in this colourway.

This little ensemble I think would make for a perfect transitional outfit! I'll keep you *posted* as to whether or not these pieces make their way into my wardrobe as apart from the Breton they are just on my wish list for now!

What's been going on wardrobe wise this week?! I am finding this gawd awful weather truly hard to dress for....torn between still trying to get some wear out of the summer stuff or diving head-long into A/W buys?

Last word....I don't normally talk beauty but I recently picked up this lovely Revlon matte lip balm and I love it so I thought I would share. I bought the shade called Elusive which is perfect is a soft pinky shade, perfect for now when I start to put away my coral colours for next Summer. It goes on really well, has a subtle mint flavour and the staying power has been excellent for a balm. They are on 2 for 1 on Revlon products at Boots at the moment too! For my money these are a lot better than Clinique chubby sticks! Anyhow, if you would like to see what other products I use I've added a Pinterest board here

  1. Some lovely looks Michelle, I've recently purchased a pair of Gazelles, and I love them, really comfy, and I can give my Stans a rest.

    1. Fingers crossed....think I have tracked the pinafore down, going to try it tomorrow, if it works it is probably going to lead to the purchases of the Gazelle's! I predict my plan of holding tight is about to go down the pan big time! xx

  5. I'm thinking black trainers too. I've had so much wear out of my white ones this summer. The daughter bought a fab little berry coloured pinafore from Primark, oh it's adorable and I could so see you working one of these into your lovely wardrobe x

    1. Lightbulb moment Donna....just thought how fab the pinafore would be with a vertical stripe shirt, as seen on your latest blog post!! Oooh inspired again....thank you! Mwah! xx

  6. Good selection Michelle. I had a go with dungarees but still not sure... undecided on the pinafore for me but could see you wearing it. Love the gazelles, may have to get me a pair! Sue xx

    1. Thanks Sue, the dungarees were a non-starter for me as I tried the boiler suit out last Summer and although I loved it (my DH and mum both gave it the thumbs up too!), it just didn't feel right. I am really feeling the skirt love right now so I think I can make the pinafore work for me! How perfect would the Gazelle's be with the pinafore....my plan to hang tight is fast going out the window!! xx

  7. Love that pinafore, Michelle. I can definitely see you in that. A Breton is a must - I've already bought a Gap one for autumn. Love the military jacket too - very you. Lynne xx

    1. I am hoping to get my hands on the pinafore Lynne, it's sold out online and everywhere local to me! :0( I have found an alternative as ASOS but you know what it's like when you have your heart set on something! What to do about the military jacket?! I already have something similar but like all my purchases for A/W so far, this is just an updated version! Decisions, decisions! xx

  8. Love your chic easy looks Michelle. I have never been much of a trainer girl, but am currently hearing some Black Nikes calling my name. As for A/W I can't get into it at all yet 😭 still loving my S/S stuff too much xx

    1. Thank you Meg! Oooh black Nikes sound good! Trainers definitely seem to carry through the tricky transeasonal weather with ease so I can definitely see another footwear purchase at some point! I am torn between hanging onto Summer and still being able to do bare legs but also looking forward to wearing some of things I've accumulated in the last few weeks! The way the weather is going I'm likely to be in the new sooner than I would like! xx

  9. It's too late for me I'm afraid, I've already taken the plunge! In fairness, the weather has been a pile of pants up here, so I do feel justified in adding a few new bits to my wardrobe. Love the jacket, and of course you can never have enough Breton tees! I'm currently awaiting delivery of a pair of all black Nikes that I found super-cheap, so I'm itching to get hold of those ASAP! Roll on Autumn, at least we can stop pretending that it's warm and just give in to the layers :-D xx

    1. I went a bit crazy last year when we went away in August and came home to rubbish weather....maybe that's why I'm showing a bit more restraint this year! I admit that I am already packing away high Summer stuff to make room for some layers, it definitely feels chillier in the mornings and evenings....well that's my excuse! I don't think you can have too many trainers either....I will be living in those for the next few weeks!! xx

  10. I can definitely see you rocking the pinafore .. & that's not something I'd say to most people!!!! I'm also having an internal debate about black sneakers ... but don't tell anyone 'cos I'll never be allowed to hear the end of it :) Love your OOTD pics - fab as always x

    1. The pinafore will be a nice alternative to my beloved skirts and I think it will layer-up nicely and be good with boots....see talking myself into it! ;0) There will be no going back once we get you in those sneakers Helen...look forward to seeing you donning a pair! Thank you for the lovely comment! xx

  12. That is the Topshop jacket I was mentioning to you - I saw that in the window yesterday when I was dragging my boys through the White Rose shopping centre picking up some goodies ;o) I love it and would have stopped off to check it out further if the small ones had been absent. Two shops with them was enough.

Interestingly enough - what colour is the Uniqlo Breton that you have got - is it ivory and navy or ivory and black? It's quite hard to tell on the site.

    1. You need to go back for it Sue! It really reminds me of the H&M one that you returned a while back, though I think the TS will be more wearable as it's not belted (just drawstring inside the jacket!) Understandable you didn't want to shop with the boys!
The Uniqlo Breton is definitely navy, although it is such a dark navy it's hard to tell! I'm usually a bit anal about mixing black and navy but I can happily get away with this Breton with black! xx
