Move over Emmanuelle....

make way for my new style crush, the equally stylish French Voguette that is Geraldine Saglio.

Whilst I was doing a website reccie before my recent Topshop personal shopping appointment, this picture of Geraldine was firmly in my mind so when I saw this Topshop jacket online it was the one item that I really wanted to secure as part of my haul.

Now as much as I love Geraldine's look I have adapted it to my style which is more conducive to a supermarket sweep or the school run.....I would look a bit of a berk trotting around in the heels for everyday kind of activities! I have dressed the jacket right down with some H&M patchwork jeans and obligatory Stan Smith's!

The Topshop navy blouse  is such a winner, perfect under the jacket above, as well going with lots of other things, it's already been worn twice within the last week!

See, it also went perfectly under this (ancient) Zara jacket, with the recently purchased Zara jeans.

Right, I have digressed...back to Geraldine for a bit more inspo!

We all seem to be sharing the love of the military jacket this season and I love how Geraldine has styled her with her flares....very this season, though she's no doubt been looking this cool for years!
Here's me trying to replicate in my recent Zara jacket purchase.

There are plenty more of Geraldine's looks I would like to try out, I have been scouring Pinterest to check out her ensembles! If you fancy a peek at what I've been pinning see here.

Round-up of the rest of the weeks outfits....what a mixed bag of weather we've been having?!

Muubaa leather biker jacket vis ASOS
J Crew sweater
H&M bag

Primark bomber jacket

Jaeger outlet sweater
Gap original fit jeans
Jigsaw bag via eBay

So that's my inspiration share of the week! Has anyone been inspiring you?

As always I love reading and responding to your comments.

Be back soon.

Michelle xx

    1. I have to say Jane I am loving the navy at the moment. The beauty of the TS jacket is that it is dark denim so will pretty much go with everything! The blouse is such a brilliant shape to go under jackets too! xx

    1. Luckily enough Donna it would seem that Geraldine's looks are all made up of wardrobe staples so they are easy to replicate. She's just got one of those timeless looks that will easily work for the next decade....*sigh*....I want to be her!! xx

  3. What is it with French women and their ability to look completely of the moment, and yet timelessly classic at the same time? I love the outfit with the military jacket, and as you say, she's probably been doing it for years but always looking bang on trend! You wear it so well, too, Michelle - I noticed you'd been pinning lots of GS's looks, and I can see you wearing so many of them, can't wait to see what else you come up with! It looks like you've been having some fab weather here and there, too - lovely to see you managed a coat-free day :-) xx

    1. These Voguettes always look just the right amount of undone don't they Becky?! I think that's what makes them so effortlessly cool and is definitely what I aspire too! I am so matchy-matchy that I need to take a leaf out of their book and not try so hard to make every outfit look so perfect, that is the key.....see, I am already over-thinking it! ;0) xx

    1. It is brilliant Helen, because it's denim it is so easy to dress up or down and when you are a school run mum, this kind of item is an absolute wardrobe workhorse! So glad I got on board with the military jacket trend too....another brilliant item that goes with so much!! xx

    1. Thank you Lynne, I find it easier to do the dressed down looks during the transitional weather for some reason, love the layering that doesn't always involve a coat over the top of everything! xx

    1. Thank you H, I'd love to swan about in heels but in reality that is never gonna happens so trainers it is! I love the flares but there is only enough room in the wardrobe for one pair....trouble is I always feel a bit overdressed in them, I am yet to master that French art of looking undone enough to feel casual in them! Blimey, I am making any sense?! Totally overthinking it again! Lol! xx

    1. Thank you Sue. I think we need to let go of the idea of getting it perfect a bit more....that seems to be the knack these Voguettes have! xx

  8. I love the dressed up versions but I much prefer the dressed down version that you have done with the Stans. I would struggle with tying a jacket round the waist these days though - the waistline is shot! And isn't it nice to be getting out the lighter jackets and coats - I am rather over the winter clothes now.

And yes, Geraldine is a bit of a style legend herself isn't she? I wonder what she wears at the weekend ... out of the limelight.

    1. I must admit I prefer dressed down too Sue, although I did wear it out on the Friday night with a silver court shoe! It is so lovely be out of the coats for a day or so and I am finally reaching for some lighter coloured clothes as well.

And yes I would also love to take a peek at what Geraldine wears of a weekend....bet she still looks chic in her trackie bottoms though! xx

I'm enjoying wearing the flares....I wonder how long it will last though as I always seem to end up back in the skinnies! xx

  14. I have the Topshop jacket on order. Should arrive in the morning I was hoping to wear it unbelted but we'll see.
The look with the khaki silky joggers and black jumper looks like the perfect combination of dressed up - dressed down if that makes any sort of sense

    1. Woo hoo! It does look good unbelted too! I have a feeling that the khaki joggers are also going to be terribly useful because they are such a perfect item to dress up or down which I reckon is due to the colour/fabric combo! xx
