My top 5 favourites pieces this season

Time to reviews my favourite purchases of the season! I like to do this to give me an idea of what I might like to try and bag in the sales! It goes without saying that top of the list it's footwear again! For me it is definitely the shoe, boot or trainer (for me in most cases!) that makes the outfit. I am totally in love with my black Converse hi-tops and I have worn little else since I got them about a month ago. They are such a classic, they do go with everything, hence I've been wearing them practically everyday!!

On the odd day off from my Converse I tend to wear my other footwear love, my Adidas Stan Smiths. Wearing these at the moment is weather permitted as I hate being cold so tend to only bare the ankles on the milder days! These are another classic and have been brilliant for pulling together more than a few outfits from some of the pieces featured below!

Adidas Stan Smith eBay £36

What I do love in Winter are my coats........as you know I have quite a few! Your coat and your footwear are generally all people will see of your outfit! This grey Topshop coat has been my favourite this season. I love the colour, it's been a great neutral for me. I tend to wear a lot of black at this time of year and this coat has been great for mixing things up a bit and getting me out of the darkness into a few lighter things! I love it with navy and it is great with the Stans!

Topshop coat £58

And of course the Stan's and the Topshop coat have looked brilliant with these H&M patchwork jeans. Now admittedly these jeans aren't the most comfortable jeans I own but I think they look the business and they have been brilliant for pulling together some of the navy pieces I have to make up some of my favourite looks.

H&M patchwork jeans £19.99

Last of the top 5 had to be the Zara sweater.....I love this! Such a lovely chunky knit, I love the colour and again I have loved wearing it with the H&M patchwork jeans and the Stan's! One of my other favourite outfits has been this sweater with the sparkly H&M harems and the Converse.....it is so versatile!!

Zara sweater purchased £45.99

So, there it is, a round-up of my best purchases so far this season. I've been trying to think of anything that I've bought that's been a bit of mistake and hand on heart I can honestly say I don't think I've made any mistakes, everything I've bought so far has earned it's place in my wardrobe. Will this exercise help me at all when sale time comes? Not really, it's just proved that I don't really need anything as everything I have is working perfectly well together! I did fancy trying to bag a faux fur......H&M have let me down big time as the one I ordered appears to have got lost in transit....but hey, I'm not too devastated so maybe I don't want one as much as I thought I did. I think I would like some more chunky knits.....but how many does a girl need?! Definitely no further shoe purchases required! Hmm what's left to buy? Not a lot! The Husband is breathing a sigh of relief anyway!

So let's get onto what I've been wearing this week.....quite a few of these key pieces in play here!

  2. Ooohhh, I need to steal your idea and so one of these, Michelle (if you don't mind?!). Love this. You've had great use from all of these buys. Especially the Converse which look fab on you. I always think they make my feet look like long boats :-( I'm a bit smitten with Superga but too cold for me to get my ankles out now until spring. Super stylish as always, lovely. Lynne xx

  6. Love everything on this list - you are so good at selecting things that will work with what you already have! Sadly I had to return my Zara black chunky jumper when it started to unravel, so I may need to do a bit of a sales recce for a new version. That grey one keeps calling me...

I've spent this evening putting together a post on my sales wishlist and how I can slot what I want into my existing wardrobe (otherwise known as trying to find justification for spending more money), so it's very much on my mind, but I actually don't think I'll buy much. Nothing I want ever seems to get reduced!

Fabulous outfits as usual. That Primark scarf is fabulous.

    1. Thank you Becky! I am turning this into a bit of an art....meaning there aren't quite as many returns as there used to be ;0) Pants about the Zara sweater....boo! Let's hope you can snag the grey one! I bought a medium and that's all they had left when I looked!

I am looking forward to seeing your sale wish list.....I should probably fess up now and say that you inspired my first sale purchase!! I popped into Gap yesterday after reading your outfit post the other day where you had some great reduced roll necks, I decided I needed a navy one to go with my grey coat and patchwork jeans. Happy days....Gap have gone into sale instore and I picked up a high neck slouchy navy sweater which I shall be wearing today! Yay! I probably should have fessed up my post but I shall share it another day......thank you! xx

  10. Ah didn't you do good this season - it's a finely honed wardrobe you have there! I was looking through your Instagram feed and you can see immediately how much you love the Converse and the Stans - it's one or the other mainly which proved what a good buy they have been. I've been letting the old fashion slip in favour of being warm and I've been dragging out warm things i.e. Uggs. It's got to be done! I'll try to put a list at some point but it will probably be March before I've finished - I am nothing if not slow and easily distracted.

    1. Why thank you Sue! Yep, it's definitely been all about the trainers again this Autumn/Winter....though I hope to get lots of wear out of the M&S brogues once it turns milder....they need to be worn with bare ankle as the sock just do not look cool! I have had the Uggs out on the odd occasion, there are times when nothing else will do! I look forward to seeing your list....it does intrigue me as to what my fellow bloggers favourite pieces will be and the reason behind the choices! xx
