Stealing some style!

Now that I have filled my boots purchase wise, I am in a bid to curb my spending and so I have turned my attention to my pin boards once again for some outfit inspiration to make the best of what I have already got! Not the first time I have experimented by copying my favourite Pinterest looks but I have found this exercise a great way of seeing some of your favourite wardrobe staples in a new light and mixing up the usual way you might put them together! First up was my Topshop boyfriend camel coat which I've had for 2 years, worn here with some double denim and I've gone with trainers instead of the black boots for this school run look!

Topshop coat (Winter 2012, similar here from River Island, 25% off with GRAZIANOV14 online)
J Crew denim shirt (via eBay, similar here)
Gap Always skinny jeans (Summer sale 2014, similar here)
Adidas Stan Smiths (via eBay, you can buy at Office here)

I featured this look from Pinterest a couple of posts back as I found a very good alternative to this coat in Primark for just £20! My version is Uniqlo that I bought last year, I am looking forward to getting lots of wear out of it this year.

I wore this outfit out for tea one night to a local pub!

Uniqlo urban fleece coat (Winter 2013, best alternative was from Primark on my last post here)
Uniqlo black sweater (current, here)
Zara coated chinos (Spring 2014, similar here)
Marks & Spencer Limited Edition boots (current, here)

I have copied this look to incorporate the airing of a new purchase, my Brave Soul red check shirt from ASOS (sadly now sold out)! Celebrity style courtesy of Kate Bosworth! It wouldn't have crossed my mind to put a t-shirt on under a shirt but it is a look I've tried a couple of times these past few days and it's fast becoming my signature look!

Topshop t-shirt (Spring 2014, similar here)
Gap legging jeans (old, similar here)
Clarks Lolly Dawson boots (current, here)

Another celebrity style steal here! The lovely OP here sporting her fur gilet. I never knew just how very versatile a gilet could be, so glad to have found one that is so wearable this season!

My version.....excuse the expression, trying to direct the 8 year old to take a good shot! Not happening!

Zara jacket (ancient, similar here)
Gap top (ancient, similar here)
Dorothy Perkins jeggings (Winter 2012, similar here)
New Look pumps (ancient, similar from H&M here)

The weather has been so mild over half term it was the perfect time to get my mac out so I tried to replicate this look, featuring the shirt over t-shirt again!

My components here are a tad different but you get the gist!

Gap outlet mac (Spring 2014, similar from Debenhams here)
Uniqlo Shirt (Spring 2014, similar here)
H&M boyfriend jeans (Summer 2013, similar here)
Adidas Stan Smith (via eBay, buy from Office here)

This was my favourite style steal of the week!

Topshop parka (Spring 2014, similar from River Island here, 25% off with GRAZIANOV14 online)
Pull & Bear sweathirt (Spring 2014, similar here)
Zara T-shirt (Spring 2014, similar here)
Zara coated chinos (Spring 2014, similar here)
Adidas Stan Smith (via eBay, buy from Office here)

I have a hole in my wardrobe for a leather jacket but I think I did manage to copy this look with a Whistles jersey biker jacket look-a-like!

Uniqlo shirt (Autumn 2013, similar here)
Zara T-shirt (Spring 2014, similar here)
ASOS Ridley jeans (current, here)

I think this Topshop coat will stand me in good stead this season! I could easily wear it everyday! Love it!

Uniqlo silk shirt (Spring 2014, similar here)
Gap original fit jeans (Summer 2013)

I love this combination of the pale blue and grey, so I copied this!

Now, I have had a pleather pencil skirt hung in my wardrobe for over a year, once I saw this look I knew this would be the best way for me to try and pull off this skirt as I wasn't entirely sure how to style it!

It worked out so much better than I expected, I was so pleased with this ensemble for a night out! Another abysmal photo though, this time thanks to the DH!

So, I would love to hear which are your favourite outfits? Do you use Pinterest for inspiration? If you want to check out my pin boards you can here. I also find a lot of inspiration on Instagram these days, you can see what I am wearing on a daily basis and who I am following here.

As always I love reading and responding to your comments!

I will be back soon with some cheap thrills!!

  12. Brilliant ideas. I have started using Pinterest too - I love clothes but am not very imaginative with them and get stuck in a rut so it's a great way to find ideas. I love how you have created lots of different looks....my faves are the black fur gilet, the sweatshirt/parka combo and the pleather skirt. I intend to copy all three! Michelle the gilet from Damart - is it true to size?

    1. It's the way to go Carol! I think it completely revives some items in the wardrobe that I've found difficult to style! It's such a great source of inspiration for pulling the simplest of outfits together but with a bit of pizzazz!! I would say the Damart gilet comes up a little large, mines a 10 which is great for wearing over a jacket! Hope that helps! xx

  14. Superb, I love your' style steals. I do it all the time as I can't function in the morning. It is far easier to just check out Pinterest and go for a look. I love the parka look, too, and I managed to buy one from an outlet store in town. I bought the size 8 and it is blooming huge! I love it though. xx

    1. Thanks H, it is ever so handy to be able to refer to your pin boards on those mornings when it's hard to get our acts together and what to wear is the last thing on our minds!! The parka is huge isn't it....at least you can get layers under though, which is a Godsend as it is not that substantial! xx

  15. You have this down to a fine art ... I find myself stalling on Pinterest sometimes because I don't know what to search for to inspire myself. But when I get going, I can get lost jumping round from one feed to another. I have to say, I agree with some of the other girls - the skirt and shirt combo is a total winner - the hubs is a lucky lucky man!

I don' trawl so much these days as lots of my inspiration comes via the boards I follow.....I have lost too many hours trawling! I have had such a great response to the skirt and shirt combo, I will definitely be dragging that outfit out again over the party season! xx

    1. That's the great thing about Pinterest though, even if you don't keep adding to it you can still go over your older pins and find inspiration! Quite a few of these pins were doubled up as I found them last year, so they are all pretty classic looks!! Insta is brilliant too for inspiration I find! xx
