My sandal style steal!

I pinned this picture on Pinterest a while back. Last week I suddenly realised I had a gap in the wardrobe for some everyday kind of sandals. With sandals I would normally go completely flat for everyday or with a heel for an evening but I needed something in-between! I was hankering after something in black and I instantly remembered loving these!

I had an occasion where I wanted to wear a dress last week but I was missing the elusive black sandals so once this picture popped up on Pinterest the deal was sealed!

Now unfortunately my budget wouldn't quite stretch to Isabel Marant but I found this excellent homage from Carvela/Kurt Geiger called Kad

They come in white as well and are reduced from £95 to £59, as I think style may have surfaced first last year. There are only limited sizes on the Kurt Geiger website but having trawled the net I found they still have a good range of sizes on Shoeaholics. They are also stocked at House of Fraser and Debenhams.

How wonderful do the real thing look in white!

Mine on me!

My other little purchase this week thanks to the wonderful Susie So so and more recently the lovely Donna at 'I won't wear sludge brown'. A kimono wasn't something that was on my radar and to be honest I have been avoiding buying anything jacket-like as I have banned myself from adding anymore to my collection! However I saw this fab little number in Primark and I just could not leave it behind! It was just £12 and I cannot wait to wear it.....come on sunshine where are you?! It goes so perfectly with this look, featuring the new sandals too!

A close up!

A look back at what I wore over half term and into this week! Starting with at stay at home outfit thanks to the miserable half term weather!

Just as I start buying the high summer stuff the sun disappears! How typical! Here's hoping we will get to see some better weather this weekend so the sandals and kimono get an airing!! Is there anything you have purchased recently for which you are desperate to wear but is weather dependent??

As always I love hearing your thoughts and responding to them!

Have a great week everyone!

Michelle xx

  1. Love the Primark kimono. Popped in at the weekend to get more knickers for the little one (potty training) & didn't even think to look at the women's clothes. DOH!

    1. Primark is great for those little trend items which are never really sure whether you will get the wear out of! Great for basics like knickers for 7 year olds too....that's generally when I end up coming across these little gems as my daughter loves shopping in there too!

  3. Gorgeous sandals & kimono Michelle. I brought some studded & leopard print (naturally!!) flat sandals last year & hardly took them off...can't wait to wear them again this year if the rain would just stop for more than a day or two!!

    1. Hey Sharon! I wore the sandals for the first time last night and they are a great height heel....perfect! The Kimono is so different for me....I don't normally do patterns or much colour so this is a great way to incorporate both into my wardrobe!

  12. Love your purchases,Michelle! Great sandals,I saw similar ones in Deichmann today, they're a great height.Same problem here with my sandals:most of them are flat or skyscraper-ish high. I bought a pair of green sandals with a mid heel in Tesco but still need some in a neutral colour.
The kimono is gorgeous on you, love the bright colour and the pattern!

  13. Fabulous sandal buy! I mentioned to you elsewhere I nearly ordered them as well but I wanted them in the white and then got sidetracked on to to many other shoes. I have to stop buying shoes! I don't actually have enough room for the ones I have. And I love the kimono - I never saw that when I was last running through Primark - it's a super bargain and isn't it nice to have a little colour coming in to the outfits? I love my greys and navys but right now, I need something more uplifting. All that rain and cloud can bring a girl down.

And I love all your outfits but you look exceptionally pretty in the Cricket one.

The cricket outfit was a winner.....hope I can deliver another great outfit for the next match the hubby is in on Sunday! xx

How did I miss that kimono, either it has sold out here, or my fashion radar was not tuned in last Saturday whilst in there!! Do I detect a slight hairstyle change this week? Loving the straighter locks on you! xx

    1. I love Shoeaholics.....I have been so lucky with them too! Best buy ever was a pair of Acne Cypress for £59! I really had to rummage for the Kimono as there were only one or 2 left!
Thank you for mentioning the barnet.....the straighter style is just lower maintenance, I am getting extremely lazy in my middle age!
