My purchase of the week!

I do love to break out the white skinnies once the sun starts shining but I have been favouring my boyfriend style jeans of late and so I've been on the hunt for a white slouchier ripped up style of jean! First stop was Topshop last week to try on their 'Mum' jeans but unfortunately they weren't a good fit for me!! Then on Saturday I took myself off to track down the Mango ones I've been hearing such good things about, only they didn't have any in stock!! I was about to give up and go home then my daughter asked if we were going into Pull & Bear.....she loves this store because of the VW camper parked right in the middle of it!! Thank goodness for that last ditch attempt as I found exactly what I was looking for!! They are high in the waist (mum style), have just the right amount if the ripped effect and they were the perfect length (I have a real thing about trews being too short!!). Here they are as modelled on the website.....fear not though, I shan't be sporting mine with a crop top!

I managed to break the jeans out one day earlier in the week when the weather was playing ball! Worn with Hobbs sweatshirt and Superga pumps.

It just so happened that I went back into Bristol on Wednesday and managed to find the Mango Loni's in the House of Fraser concession. Now the Loni is an off white/cream which Mango describe as 'neutral'. Last year I purchased a pair of Primark skinnies in the same neutral shade and that I found them to be very useful so I am thinking that the Loni's could also find their way into my wardrobe too!

Here is a flavour of what I been wearing the rest of the week.

Something a tad different to what you are used to seeing me in.....but I was off to an appointment with a recruitment consultant so I needed to make a smart impression!

Whistles Blazer (last year)
Gap top (old)
Gap trousers (old)
New Look pumps (old)
Mulberry Dorset tote

Superdry leather jacket (c/o T K Maxx, old)
Gap merino v-neck sweater
Uniqlo cargo skinnies (current)
Topshop Vamp skater (current)

Jaeger sweater (current)
Gap real straight (last year)
Kurt Geiger Laurel skaters (current)

Uniqlo shirt (current)
H&M jeans (current, sale purchase)
Topshop Vamp skaters (current)

Finally I have had the occasion to break out my bargain Mango jumpsuit for a rare night out!! So nice to get dolled up for a change!!

DKNY leather biker jacket (c/o T K Maxx, old)
Mango jumpsuit (current via ASOS)
M&S sandals

So anyone else care to spill about what they've purchased this week??

As always I love reading and responding to your comments!

Until next time!

Michelle xx

    1. Yep! Got there with white boyfriends in the end!! The M&S sandals were courtesy of my little splurge in April....have been desperate to break them out as I think they look ace with the jumpsuit too!! I had a great meeting, thank you!! Think the smart outfit definately gave a great first impression! xx

  2. You look stunning in your jumpsuit Michelle. Love the white distressed jeans. I prefer the looser look than skinnies when we're talking ripped jeans. Hope it went well at the recruitment agency, how could they not hire you xx

    1. Thank you Donna! Loving seeing how everyone else is styling their jumpsuits too....such an easy thing to wear, though a pain in the rear when you need the loo...lol! I definately think the more relaxed white jean is more flattering than a skinny.....over the moon that I found these!! Had a truly amazing response from the agency so feeling very confident on the job front!! xx

  3. I see you managed to get the infamous cage sandals as well. You look fab in your jumpsuit. I also love the white jeans. i've resigned myself to the fact that bf jeans don't suit me, so am sticking with my skinnies for now :(

    1. Hands up I snapped the fantastic sandals up as soon as I saw them on the lovely Annemarie....fashion mum of 40 as I knew they would go perfectly with a few things in my wardrobe that I was finding pretty difficult to style!
As for the white jeans.....try on a few of the more relaxed styles I am sure there is a perfect pair out there for you xx

  4. I think you're one of the few people who genuinely wear white jeans well. They are really difficult to pull off well and I for one really struggle with them. I have the offwhite Primark ones that you have and they are super flattering on you but not so much on me. I like that they are not dazzling white but a softer white but I still feel like they draw a lot of attention to my bottom half so I've not worn mine much at all.

And love all the looks you have put on here. From the interview look to your going out look. I went and tried on the caged sandals this week again and in the nude colourway. Fabulous on but not so fabulous to walk in so I walked away. It was hard :o(

    1. You are too kind Sue! I put my H&M white skinnies on a couple of weeks ago and I felt huge!! That set me on this path of finding something a bit slouchier and hence finally tracking down these P&B beauts!! I have a little confession to make as I have already bought the Mango Loni's as I knew they would be great with the KG Madison espadrilles....completley appealing to my matchy matchy side!! I do literally drive myself nuts over this kind of stuff!!
Another confession.....I do so love the caged shoes....but jeez!! They left some seriously funny marks on my feet come the end of the night. Being completely honest even though they have the insolia padded insole they were not 100% comfortable!! Glad I was sat down all night really....had I been stood up there would have been no evidence of a happy face! xx

  5. What fab jeans!! I've managed to wear my white jeans just once this year & not much chance of them seeing the light of day for a while judging by the weather forecast! You look amazing in your jumpsuit & I love it styled with your leather jacket...the shoes go perfectly too, hope you had a fab night out! Really love your interview outfit too...you pitched it spot on! x

    1. You know first hand all about my fondness for P&B Sian ;0)
I can't wait to get some more wear out of these jeans as I do think they are a whole lot more flattering than my white skinnies!! Had a lovely night in The Bath Brewhouse....do you know it? It's by the Odeon cinema in Bath. Was lovely to dress up and have some adult time!! So hoped that I dressed to impress with the interview outfit xx

  6. Love your new jeans Michelle & your jumpsuit looks stunning with the M&S sandals. I also ordered these but the heel is quite high & slim which would only mean one thing with me, either clinging onto hubby for dear life or ending up on the floor lol!!!!
Hope your meeting with the recruitment agency went well.

    1. Jane....I wobbled in these shoes and clung to the DH for dear life...lol! Heels are not my forte either!! Love the look of them...especially with the jumpsuit which was so comfy for a night out!! Am doing a Sun dance so I can break the white jeans out again soon!!
And thank you....did come away from the recruitment meeting feeling pretty confident xx

    1. Felt things went really well at my appointment Helen, thank you! Have fun trying a few pairs of the white jeans on!! I'd seen quite a few on blogs and tried them on but I am sure there are still loads of stones unturned and there is tons more choice out there!! xx

  8. Hi Michelle!! Well done on finding the 'perfect' white jeans- a real hard one, but you pulled it off to perfection as usual, perfect slouch and a great fit!! Love your daily outfits and looking super sharp for the recruitment agency! Love the jumpsuit, sounds like you had a great night! Those M&S Leopardprint ankle boots I bought in Autumn have the insolia thingy too but even just walking around the house they've not seemed that comfy which is why I haven't even worn them yet, 6 months on ;-( See you soon, woo hoo!! xx

    1. Thank you Sharon! It was a nice surprise to find the P&B ones since I was just about to give up and go home!! You know with the M&S sandals the insole was just fine but the strappy bits seemed quite tight by the end of the night.....probably due to the fact my trotters are not used to heels but they left some very interesting marks on my feet when I took them off!!Lol! Any-hoo! See you v.soon! xx

  11. You always look fab in distressed jeans and I love the white jeans. I love my white jeans but mine are skinnies - I don't think I'm brave though (or have the figure) for distressed white jeans! Hope your job hunt is going well. Lynne x

    1. You most certainly do have the figure Lynne....I think you should go forth and try a few pairs of white jeans on!! I was so sure the Topshop ones would be perfect as I've had a lot of success with their jeans before but I found a pair where I was least expecting too! If at first you don't succeed!! xx

  12. Oh I'm all over that jumpsuit - looks stunning on you! I've got a blog post coming up tomorrow with all the ones I've been checking out on the high street but sadly yours is sold out in normal people's sizes ;)
Also like the sound of the creamy coloured trousers - I'm keen to get a pair this year if I can find some I like.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my blog by the way...I appreciate it so much, Ax
