I never thought I'd see the day!!

This is an item of clothing I can honestly say I never imagined seeing myself wearing but I've been completely won over by a boiler suit! Yes you heard that right....a boiler suit!!

I have my lovely friend Vikki to thank for this little purchase as we were having a conversation about dungarees when she sent me the picture above and said how about these! I headed off into Bristol today intent on hunting down a jacket I'd seen in Mango that I'd been hankering after for weeks! I wished I'd tried it on when I first saw it as I'd really built it up to be something really special in my minds eye but in reality it was a complete disappointment!! I thereafter embarked on a mission to find a peasant style top but no luck there either!! Primark ended up being my last chance saloon or else I would have been going home empty handed on payday! I decided to check out the boiler suit that Vikki and I had discussed and managed to find it so I headed off to the fitting room with 3 different sizes. I ended up plumping for the size 12 as I think it should be worn on the slouchier side!! At £17 this boiler suit is the perfect price for something that might only be worn a few times! For me this would be perfect for travelling in so I look forward to donning it when I go on my hols!!

It is so comfy....I would have happily left the store wearing it. In fact I changed into it once I got home! Must admit I was very surprised to hear that the hubby liked and the 7 year old daughter thought it looked very stylish....bless! I love it and it is the perfect outfit for these in-between Spring/Summer weather days!

As usual a few outfits from the rest of the week! The H&M thrifty top find is certainly already paying it's way! Worn here again for a birthday supper for my mother-in law on Saturday.

Whistles biker jacket (last year)
H&M top (Dorothy House charity shop)
Dorothy Perkins coated jeggings (old)
Pull & Bear boots (current c/o ASOS)
Anya Hindmarch Gracie bag (current The Outnet)

An oversize white shirt for a relaxed Sunday look

Gap shirt (current season)
Zara coated chinos (current season)
Birkenstock Arizonas (current via Amazon)

Bank holiday Monday spent in the park!

Zara sweatshirt blazer (old)
Zara stripe top (sale, earlier this year)
Gap original fit jeans (last year)
Kurt Geiger Madison espadrilles (current via Zalando)
Topshop scarf (current, sale)
Longchamp Planetes tote

The outfit I started off in today.

Zara jacket (old)
Zara grey t-shirt (current)
H&M boyfriends jeans (last year)
Converse (ancient)

Is there an item of clothing that you couldn't picture yourself in that once you've tried has won you over?? Is this a trend you can see yourself indulging in? I know the boiler suit along with the Birkenstock Arizona's are a bit of a Marmite item that won't be for everyone....I wonder what other trends I thought would pass me by will find their way into my wardrobe this year?! Answers on a postcard please!!

Love hearing your thoughts and responding to them!

I will be back soon with the post I mentioned last time about one of my old favourite clothing haunts.....it is a work in progress as I have been in and out of the store to photograph stuff (been trying to do so discreetly) as the website pictures do the clothing absolutely no favours!

Wishing you all a good week!

Until next time!

Michelle xx

  3. Hi my lovely!! Wow I just adore this look, I am so surprised this is Primark, the fit and cut looks fabulous and not only is it super stylish on you it looks amazingly comfy- I reckon you've started something now Missus, hehe!! I also love your red boots and how you styled them up and your other daily looks are top notch as usual!! We've had dismal wet weather here so I've been in my winter parka these past couple of days, boo!! xx

    1. Hey Sharon! I don't often go into Primark unless I'm in on a mission....I must have been in the right mood yesterday as I couldn't picked a worse day as it was half term and the place was mobbed! I'm sure if I'd had the inclination I could have found some more great stuff but I just grabbed the boiler suit and headed for the fitting rooms! Thank you for the lovely compliment about my outfits....I'm find it hard to decide to wear because of this darn weather! Looks like I will be donning a parka today.....it is horrible here today! xx

    1. Thank you Donna.....I do find the sizing in Primark is totally off! I tried on the Primarks dungarees just for fun (glad there is no photographic evidence!!) but the size 12 were skin tight!! That's why I grabbed 3 sizes.....you just never know! xx

  11. You are totally pulling off the boiler suit Michelle!! I have to admit when I saw the pic at the top I wasn't sure, but it looks so much better on you (& for £17 what's not to love!!). You're always so great at taking something on-trend & making it wearable! Love your black & red outfit too. Hope you're having a good week...shame the weather isn't playing ball!! x

    1. Hi Sian....thank you! I don't the Primark picture does it justice either!! Some very questionable photography going on there!! It's much nicer in the flesh!!
Hope you are having a good week too in this typical half term weather! xx

  13. Well that was a bit of a curveball - I wasn't expecting to see a boiler suit at all. I love it! It works on you because you have a knack for translating looks and making them very wearable. On a lot of other people, it would die a death. And I think it would make for a very comfy travel outfit indeed. Good buy!

And shame how the weather has turned again. I literally had a good Bank Holiday Monday and its been raining ever since. Pah.

    1. Lol Sue! I think I have pretty much everything else in my wardrobe covered so I think there was room for a total anomaly!! At 17 quid there isn't a great deal to lose if it only sees the light of day a couple of times! It will be ideal for our flight which is in the middle of the night!! Chuck on another layer or 2, some flip flops and I will be good to go!!
It is so miserable here today...looks like the wellies will be in order....never mind the parka! xx

  14. You are rocking the boiler suit here my lovely. I do, however, keep chuckling as I can't stop thinking about the faff when you need to pee. Sorry for lowering the tone and it doesn't stop you looking fabulous. ;-) H xx

    1. Surprisingly Helen, it's not too bad to bad to get in and out of....thankfully!! Now the jumpsuit is a different story altogether as the zip is at the back and it is a bit of a struggle lol! Glad to hear you like the boiler suit and thanks for the lovely compliment xx

  15. Yes, love it too, Primark does DKNY cool! The fabric looks really nice and soft, is it tencel? I was in our local Primark store at the weekend, but didn't spot this little beauty.......Perhaps the Cotswolds are deemed too tweed and wellies, for them to put it here!!? xx

    1. Thank you! It is like tencel....very supple type denim which is what makes it so comfy! We have a humungous Primark near us in Bristol and they are just about to open another store in Bath.....another great reason for a meet up in Bath!! xx

    1. Thank you Frances! I have to say this is quite long in the body but I'd have like the leg length a bit longer for more of a turn up but now I'm getting really fussy which I shouldn't as it was only £17!! xx
